Net and Nifty Netequtte

We are learning how to interact online in a kind, positive and helpful way.
Netiquette are the rules of behaviour that apply when communicating online.

Here are some tips for when you are online

don't swear online

use Netiquette online
control your temper when online
try to avoid flame wars.
Remember that when you are online you are talking to real people
treat people how you want to be treated
keep texts short and clear
don't use numbers as letters when texting
don't write all in capital letters when texting or it seems your yelling
humour dose not always sound the same online without hearing the tone of voice
ask permission before posting anything about a friend or family
remember that if you are rude online people will not want to be kind back to you
flaming can be insulting  to people
If you get pulled into a flame war then try leave as soon as possible
don't think that it is OK to bully people just because they don't know who you are.
remember to use proper grammar when communicating online
read over you writing before sending
the internet is not a privet place, If you don't want people to see something then don't post it

How does Netiquette affect our relationships?

Netiquette can affect our relationships when you use kind or rude word because it can make people like you or dislike you. If you use Netiquette it can make you friends online or offline if you get in touch. It can help people understand you better online which makes it easy for people to come to know you better. It can also affect how people treat you in the real world so over all Netiquette is pretty cool.

Red

Walt write a colour poemImage result for sunset png
  Red
Red is the sunset that fills the night sky,
Red are the raspberries that make me feel I can fly.Image result for strawberries png
Red is compassion which means doing good deeds,
Red are strawberries all covered with seeds.
Red is the blood that comes out of my cut,
Red is the inside of a freshly cooked mutt.
I love red because it’s rare.

Athletic Family

Athletic Family.
One thing you should know about me,
Is my frisky family,
And how my family is as athletic as can be.

For example take my younger sister,
Now I can’t say that she’s a weight lifter.
She likes to play hockey,
Not Rugby or Socky,
My amazingly fit younger sister.

See my dad he enjoys going hiking.
And he wouldn't mind doing some biking.
If you give him a ball he’ll surely floor you all
My incredibly athletic dad.

Come over here and you’ll see my big brother,
He likes playing Rugby and no other.
He’ll fight and he’ll battle,
He’ll scrum and he’ll tackle,
My spectacular beefy big brother.

Now you’ll meet my two older big sisters,
One plays hockey, one football no blisters,
So make sure your slate’s clean
Because they can be mean,
My courageous but snobby big sisters.

And now you’ll come up to see Mum,
Just one glare makes your fingers go numb,
You ask her to a duel then it shows you’re a fool,
My mighty magnificent Mum.
And last but not least there is Me,
I’m as fit and frisky as can be,
I’ll run mile on mile without losing a smile,

That's the sporty supportive old Me.

Tiny Frozen Meteors.

Walt:Write a wether poem using strong verbs

Tiny frozen meteors

Drumming drumming
Hard then light.
The sudden sound is no delight.
The thumping beat as hail pores.
You wish that it was under laws.
It’s hard to see, easy to hear.
You know it’s wise to be aware.
It’s not like summer autumn spring.
Down from the skies there bulleting.
You see them jumping of the floors.
These tiny frozen meteors.Image result for hail pngImage result for hail png

Snowman War

WALT: We Are Learning To
Make a winter poem with strong verbs.
In the bed like most is where I lie.
The window catches my brown eyes.
I instantly get out of bed.
The closet now is where I head.
Image result for pile of snowballsI dive into the white, white land
The place that can’t be made by man.
I make a man made out of snow.
With stones as eyes and carrot nose.
I’m throwing balls made out of ice.
At snowmen because they’re not nice.
And now I’m hiding in a fort.
Because there’s one thing that I’ve been taught.
These snowmen don’t fully agree.
And know they’re coming after me.
But I’m going to make a stand.
I will defend my white, white land.
I collect a pile of frozen balls.

So I hop onto my old trike.
(My Dad never got me a bike).
I throw the balls. I win the war.
Not sure I like snowmen anymore!

(actually I’m quite sure I don’t like them)

My Audience

We are learning to create a positive digital footprint.

We often share personal information when we are online. The people we share with could be our friends and family or people we don't know. We need to make smart decisions about what personal information we share online.

Magnificent Me

My name is Zach and I am a year 5 in St Bernadette’s school. I am in room 8 and my teacher is Miss Bergin. In my free time I like to play on the computer, play football and do hair raising stunts on really big things. I also like to dig into a triple choc pavlova or some of my other favourite foods like burritos  and pumpkin soup. I don’t really have a favourite movie but I really like adventure movies. One day I hope to be able to do my squares and square roots in a small amount of time. I have 3 sisters and one brother and since I am a boy  there are 7 people in my family (including my mum and dad). As I may have shown before my favourite sport is football. It is the favourite sport of 2 other people in my family. And last but not least my culture. I am a New
Zealander from Christchurch  and that is me Zach.
